Frequently Asked Questions

Can I adjust the preload without removing my saddlebags?

Yes — that's the main benefit of QPS. Adjust preload in seconds using an 8mm socket wrench while bags stay on the bike.

How much lower will my Touring sit with these shocks?

Most Touring models will sit approximately 2 inches lower than stock height.

Do these require special tools to adjust?

You only need an 8mm socket wrench to adjust preload. No special tools required for basic maintenance.

What's the difference between Standard and Heavy Duty versions?

Heavy Duty is valved for riders who frequently carry passenger weight or luggage; Standard is for solo and occasional two-up riding.

Will these work on my older Touring or just newer models?

Verify fitment with Progressive or your dealer — Touring models span several generations with different geometries. Confirm the year and model before ordering.

Stiff

The shocks seem super nice, but they are incredibly stiff. Turns out they’re 130/200 top to bottom. Would be nice to have an option to choose your spring rate. Couldn’t find it in the description either. Have them installed on a 1998 sportster 1200 by the way. I’m about 180lbs and they don’t move at all, my friend who weighs about 260 also said they were way to firm. Hope this helps.
