About Progressive

Progressive Suspension has focused exclusively on American V-twin suspension since 1982, and its Monotube fork cartridges and 400/970/970G shock series are among the most common upgrades on baggers and Softails. For most riders the stock rear shock is the single worst part on the bike — this is the fix.

Unleash the full potential of your Harley-Davidson Dyna with Progressive 990 Sport series shocks. These highly adjustable monotube shocks are engineered to transform your ride, providing superior handling and stability.

Why riders pick this

  • Full adjustability for preload, rebound, and compression
  • High-pressure monotube design for consistent damping
  • Deflective disc damping for superior control
  • Lightweight aluminum construction
  • Enhances handling and stability on Dyna models

The Progressive 990 Sport series shocks for Harley Dyna models are designed for riders who demand precision and control. Featuring complete adjustability for preload, rebound damping, and dual-circuit compression damping, you can fine-tune your suspension to match your riding style and road conditions.

Precision Tuned Performance

  • Hand-adjustable preload for quick setup changes
  • External knob for rebound damping adjustment
  • Dual-circuit compression damping for fine-tuned control
  • High-pressure monotube design for consistent feel
  • Lightweight aluminum body for reduced unsprung weight

Engineered for the Open Road

Built with a high-pressure gas monotube and deflective disc damping, these shocks deliver consistent performance throughout the entire suspension stroke. The linear rate coil spring and captured jounce bumper work together to provide a smooth, controlled ride, whether you're carving canyons or cruising the highway. Upgrade your Dyna's rear end for a noticeable improvement in comfort and confidence.

Stiff

The shocks seem super nice, but they are incredibly stiff. Turns out they’re 130/200 top to bottom. Would be nice to have an option to choose your spring rate. Couldn’t find it in the description either. Have them installed on a 1998 sportster 1200 by the way. I’m about 180lbs and they don’t move at all, my friend who weighs about 260 also said they were way to firm. Hope this helps.
