I put the kit in a 03 Heritage, the runout was 2 th the backlash was 1th the bike runs good. I like the mild cam. Feels good at low end. Getting away from the chain drive was the best.

Overall this kit was an instant performance upgrade to my 2000 Superglide. With the 509 cam I had more torque in every single gear. The difference was noticeable from the start. The peace of mind that comes with gear drive is also great. Buyer should understand that the carb must be tuned after install it is a step up. This is an excellent product that shipped fast and worked exactly as described.
Top of the line.. dig S&S products. The craftsmanship of their products are second to none. Installation instructions are top notch and easy to follow and if you have issues with the install their tech support is awesome and willing to take the time and help you. Don't get in a rush when installing. The 509 cams were recommended to me by S&S for a TC88 engine in my 2005 Ultra Classic. They pull nicely and really woke up my heavy bagger.
Got bearings pressed into support plate. Cams into bearing. Waiting in time to break into camchest. So many riding days, don’t want downtime. Got ahold of some other upgrades to do while she’s apart.
