Frequently Asked Questions
Will these cams work with stock heads?
Yes — they're designed to work with unported stock heads, but deliver best results when paired with S&S CNC ported heads.
What compression ratio do I need?
These cams work with engines from 9.7:1 up to 10.5:1 compression ratio. Outside that range, consult S&S Cycle for compatibility.
Do I need intake and exhaust mods to run these?
Yes — these cams are designed for engines with aftermarket intake and exhaust modifications. Stock intake/exhaust systems may not allow full potential.
What RPM range delivers the most power?
Peak power gains occur between 2,500–5,500 RPM, with solid gains across the entire operating range.

Service was excellent. Product lives up to expectation. Process was easy.
I originally ordered the andrews H48 but while waiting for my thundermax tuner to arrive, I decided I wanted a big bore kit as well my bike has always been hard to start hot and I don’t have compression release heads so I got s&s mr 103 easy start cams and an S&s 107 big bore kit. I have not had a chance to ride it yet because after 4 weeks of waiting jp informed me it was gonna be 2 more weeks before the tuner would arrive so I had to cancel my order and ordered one from Fuel Moto yesterday, I have started the bike but have not rode it yet but it starts and restarts easy the cams work great!
Only have 75 miles on them due to snowy/icy weather here, but so far I’m impressed,
The mr103 is just what I was looking for in a cam upgrade.
