Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between DOT and ECE certification?

Both are safety standards. DOT is U.S. federal certification; ECE is European. This helmet meets both, so it's legal worldwide.

Does the faceshield fog up?

No — the Everclear no-fog faceshield resists fogging, and the breath deflector reduces warm air hitting the shield.

Can I add a communication system?

Yes — integrated speaker pockets built into the liner are ready for aftermarket Bluetooth or wired comm units.

Is the sun visor useful for riding?

The SpeedView drop-down sun visor darkens in bright sun and stows up when not needed — useful for day riding without removing the helmet.

How do I know if size 3X-Large is right for me?

Measure your head circumference in inches and compare to Scorpion's fit chart. A snug but not tight fit is correct — you should not be able to twist or roll the helmet easily.

Great helmet and value

Overall, a great helmet. Incredible features for the price point. Drop down visor is solid, chin guard is great, design and look feels premium except for maybe the visor. The airfit system is really handy as well. I wear a large in most helmets and I thought this fit great. But after 20 minutes I developed a bad headache. Not sure where it came from.

This does fit very tight around the ears and it's hard to get a finger in their to push in earplugs and such.

Scorpion exo-t520 review

This is the second Scorpion helmet I've owned and this one is true to form. There's space for a Bluetooth com and integrated speakers if so desired, air flow is more than adequate with vents in the chin and forehead open and when up to speed, face shield stays put whether up or down, integrated tinted visor is a nice touch. Comfort is very nice doesn't feel too heavy and minimal drag except when turning head to look but that's just physics, no way around that. Chin strap is very secure feeling with no discernible loosening or noise and the pump to snug up the cheek pads is a nice touch. Would solidly recommend this helmet if looking in low to midrange pricing.

520

Got this one for my friend after they tried my r1 on and like it but not the price point. They're extremely happy with this helmet, the cheek pads aren't as snug compared to the r1 so they're gonna have to look into thicker ones. But all in all solid entry level helmet good air flow, fits comfortably and maybe just a hair big on size not to the extent of wanting to go a size smaller though. Wind noise is normal, nothing crazy. As with any helmet. You're gonna have wind noise.. you are out side on a motorcycle.. but with that being said no whistling or super loud wind drag noises that'll drive you nuts going down the road .

Ok for the price.

Looks good, I like the contours of the helmet. The inner sun visor does a good job. I wear eye glasses and it is a bit difficult putting them on since the padding fits snug against my temple area. I really can't tell the difference with the chin vents on or off. Overall, for the price it's decent buy.

Kinda loud

Comparing to the memory of my accident-retired EXO-R420. Love the inflatable cheekpads, the sunvisor, the smaller shell size (@SM). But there's lots of whistling sounds that I haven't had on the cheaper model. And the visor fogs up more easily in my experience.

Very nice to wear but quite noisy even fully closed.
A bit hot in Florida, vents could be bigger and flow better
