Good All Around Helmet

I wear a Klim carbon helmet touring in summertime... light but loud. I have to wear earplugs with it.

I bought the Scorpion to replace an older GMAX helmet. I refresh helmets every 6th season as an investment in my brains that seems prudent. The Scorpion is light but heavier and warmer for fall, early spring riding. It has an inexpensive price for the safety rating it carries.

I also had a problem with the keeper for the strap breaking before I used the helmet. Scorpion is sending me a replacement snap. Hopefully that will come soon and I can repair it.

Fit and finish on the helmet are very good. I bought the silver/black graphic helmet and the graphics are very nice. I installed an older Sena Com unit, as my Klim has the newer 50s com mesh in it. The older is non-mesh, but only will be used for music and riding we my wife who has the same Sena. The installation of the Sena was very easy and wires hidden well. I like that the shield has detents for riding cracked on warmer days or to disburse fog.

A disappointment is that the pinlock insert (dks107) is currently not available anywhere in the USA. To have it shipped from Europe has an almost $30 added shipping expense. I'm hopeful that the pinlock insert will be back in stock stateside for this helmet before spring riding season. That was a major disappointment.

Fit is comfortable but tight out of the box. I'm sure that will improve as it breaks in. The padding seems to be very high quality. My Gmax loosened up to the point it would roll down on my forehead and that also was a reason not to be sad to see it go... but it was a good helmet (54s).

Overall, the Scorption Edge is a nice helmet and I hope to get many miles from it over the next 5 riding seasons.

One year later, and kinda meh

It's a great looking helmet, but I'm honestly kinda disappointed.
I got this helmet because I liked the 420 I needed to replace, but wanted the ECE 22.06 certification. The fit is comfortable if a bit snug when new. The ear pockets are shallow though and long trips with an JBL equipped Cardo made my ears hurt. The smooth inner chin bar also doesn't like adhesives for positioning the microphone.
I love Scorpion's anti-fog coating but this lid has no option for it on the main face shield. Instead, it requires purchasing an always-fiddly pinlock insert even though the sun visor does have their coating.
The face shield also doesn't close very well. The detents leave about 5mm of wiggle in the closed position.
If they release a 22.06 certified EXO-R 430 (sorry, not interested in the 330), I'll be retiring this helmet early.

Good

Cardo 4X Usually works good but at times I found I had to turn off then back on for voice commands to work.
Helmet is ok but one snap for headliner is broken.

I don't love it.

This is unfortunate. I love the style and the multiple vents. Also the smoked drop down lense is very useful for day time riding. But the size is very terrible. It is wayyy too small and the cushion interior for the top of my head isn't comfortable AT ALL. Barely ANY comfort at all. It hurts the top of my skull and feels like it's putting a dent on it. I thought if I used it while and wear it down, it'll feel better. But nope! Hurts like hell! I may as well ride without it! The pavement would probably feel much better than this helmet. :/
