These are great tires for a super price!

Put these tires in whitewall on my 02 vstar 1100 classic and loved the performance. I've moved on to a Goldwing 1800 and I'm putting Shinkos on it. Shinkos are performance tires and for those that think they are not a name brand tire here's alittle background info.<br /><br />In 1998 the Shinko Group purchased the motorcycle tire technology and molds from Yokohama Rubber Co., and began production of these products under the Shinko Tire brand. Excellent tire!

Purchased a set of these for my '86 Goldwing in March and they've exceeded my expectations. As of this review, I'm 10K into these tires and have another 2-3K left on the rear. Ordering a new set for winter.<br /><br />Mounted easily with tire machine & balanced using beads. Felt a slight vibration the first few miles then it went away. No problems since.<br /><br />Running 41psi in front & rear (as recommended) gives good road feedback. Anything less the front gets mushy & the rear squirms.<br /><br />Good traction in the wet (way better than the Honda "recommended" tires) and in the cold...and on gravel.<br /><br />Very sticky on the sides so leaning the bike over thru turns is FUN!

Best deal for price and quality

Don't be fooled by the name or price. Originally this was Yokohama, they know what they're doing. Bike tracks smooth and straight and handles the turns with ease.<br /><br />PROS: Was Yokohama, Quality tire, Replaced Metzlers<br /><br />BEST USES: Excellent wear, Great handeling, On my FLHT

Shinko Killing It Yet Again

From the get go this tire surprised the heck out of me. Although it has only been a few weeks I can tell this is going to be a fun ride. Tread, although aggressive looking, is unbelievably quiet. Handling like a dream, not like a new tire but like a dream, it literally feels like it is digging/clawing into the asphalt. Wet weather is nothing, fresh rain on the highway was no issue. Can't wait for to find out how the tread life is going to be.

Great for older sport-touring bikes

For my 1975 GL1000 Goldwing this is outright the best bang for the buck tire I have found. There are technically better tires out there like the BT45 Battlax (Which were my first new set on the bike), but for half the cost the Shink 230 offers 8/10ths of that tire, with the only real sacrifice being tread life. <br /><br />Grip wise, I prefer the 230 over the BT45. My group of riding buddies is wide and varied between newer sport bikes, old classics like mine, cruisers, and even a couple of ADV bikes. When I end up with my more sporty friends on a twisty road, these tires give me plenty of confidence that allows me to keep up well through the corners. They also ride great on the highway for the cruiser rides.<br /><br />Mileage. My Goldwing weighs in wet at 587lbs (yes I got bored and scaled it one day). So it's on the lighter end of the "heavy" spectrum. I managed to get about 7500 miles on the rear tire before it finally needed replacing (not bald and showing cords) with the front tire at roughly half tread. To me, this is a more than acceptable tread life for a motorcycle tire, especially considering how well they grip. I will only ever buy these for my Goldwing as long as they are offered. Again, there are technically better tires, but I have yet to have a confidence or quality issue with these tires, and they give me everything I want.

EXCELLENT tire for the money...can't go wrong!

I purchased my Shinko 230 rear tire in January of this year for my '96 Honda Shadow 1100 American Classic (ACE) and have logged over 7000 highway and rural, mountain road miles on this tire. I have ridden in all types of weather conditions and temperatures, and I must say that I am EXTREMELY impressed and pleased with the performance, grip, handling, comfort, and tread life of this tire considering it cost well under $100. This brand was highly recommended by a friend, who is also my motorcycle mechanic and an avid biker. I have been running a Kenda Cruz on the front, and have been very pleased with that tire, but I am getting ready to replace both with a set of matching Shinko tires. Think I am going to try the 777's this time. Regardless, you can't beat Shinko's quality for the price.

Great tires and exceptional value

These definently handle better than my stock dunlops. I just took a trip up in the hills of TN and these shinkos handled great. Tight turns bumpy back roads and lots of gravel, never felt sloppy.

Great life/ excellent handling

I ride year round to work and for pleasure and have had really great dervice from these tires. They're very affordable and long lasting, costing half the price of some of the competition and wearing better. I'll easily get 2-4k more on the back tire and will replace with another just like it.

Solid performer, does exactly what it's supposed to do.

I've been happy with nearly all the shinko tires I've ridden. Previously I've used metzelers, avons and dunlops on cruisers. These tires are currently on my Vulcan 750, so keep that in mind. They may perform differently on a larger bike. <br />I put on a lot of mileage, dunlops were my workhorse goto tire. Usually used the Harley ones on my last bike. Every Avon I've used has worn much too quickly for my liking. The metzeler me880 was a horrible choice. It wore far too quick on the highway and had poor grip. It was a serious liability in the rain.<br />Now, the shinko 230 tires have been awesome! Good grip and slow wear. I can drop into a corner without fear of ending up in the woods. They are solid in the twisties and on the highway, also excellent in the rain and handled quick stops in city traffic. As far as I can tell when these wear out I'll just keep buying them for this bike.<br /><br />PROS: Good Ride, Good Cornering, Easy To Install, Versatile, Durable<br /><br />

Excellent tire value

After reading many reviews and opinions concerning these tires I decided to try a set. I had been running "major brand" tires that cost a LOT more and was dissatisfied with the overall performance vs cost. Well, the Shinkos took care of that! I have a 712 on the rear and a 230 on the front of an '07 Guzzi Cali Vintage and they are every bit as good as the more expensive tires...actually I like them better with regards to handling and traction. Wear is looking to be good as well, at least as good as the previous tires but a half the cost. In addition they ride very smooth...noticeably better in fact. I'm sold...Shinkos for me from now on!

This tire does better than the Dunlop 404 that I had on.

Great tire at a great price

Swapped a set of these onto an old Vulcan 500 that desperately needed replacements for it's 20odd year old dry rotted originals. Bike is worth next to nothing, so didn't want to drop $250 on a set of Metzlers for it- 40hp and squishy 90's cruiser suspension don't exactly command knife edge performance either. And that's where Shinko is my go-to tire, specifically the 230 Tourmaster. Front/rear pair shipped for $140, and by some magic, I ordered Monday morning, and they arrived in literally 24 hours. Unreal. <br /><br />I've tried a few other of Shinko's tires, specifically the 777, and the 230 to me is the better tire. Grip is excellent, these things are seriously sticky. Quiet at speed, and don't misbehave on milled pavement or tar lines as much as the 777 either. I'd also give the nod to the 230 for tread life, although not by a huge amount. <br /><br />Compared to a Metzeler Marathon or something, you won't get the same mileage, but for a "value" tire, these hold up fairly well. On smaller, lower powered cruisers 10k or so can be expected from the rear, with the front good for another few K past that. The major brands (Dunlop, Metz, Bstone, ect) all offer "budget" tire models as well, but across the board I've hated them. They're generally still more $ than a Shinko, and far, far worse tires. Shinko is much better at making cheap tires than anyone else in my experience.<br /><br />The only knock I have on Shinkos is they tend to take a LOT of weight to balance here and there. Sometimes they're fine, line up the dot with the valve stem and it's near perfect. Other times, you're covering 1/4 of the rim with weights. Quality control doesn't seem quite as good, but hey, that's what you get for a tire that costs half as much.

Great tire so far

This is the first front Shinko that I've used and I'm very pleased. Put it on a Super Tenere. Mounting was very easy, bead seated perfectly and tire has lost ZERO air so far. From a couple thousand miles of use so far, things look great and traction has been exceptional. I'll probably put a rear Shinko on this bike once my current rear wears out.

Good mileage

Used a 130/90/16 on the rear...ran smooth, excellent dry traction, satisfactory wet traction. Rode around 8500 miles before retiring it...could have gotten more miles on windy ride instead of a straight highway commute.

Great tire for the money

Great replacement for my 81 CB650. Good traction looks right on the bike have no wear issues so far tires have about 3000 miles on them with no noticeable wear.

Shinko 230 on 08 HD HERITAGE

Just installed these tires and impressed with the grip, ride, and performance. Look excellent on my bike and the tread pattern really impressed me with the center harder wear band. I truely believe these will deliver the mileage of tires I have been paying double the price. Fast order process n delivery. Product description perfectly correct. Can't ask for more. Yes! Shaky is an understatement!

I had these tires balanced and mounted by a professional mechanic/rider with numerous years of experience. As of now, with about 100 miles on the tire, it feels to be the worst tire I've ever experienced. I can't comment too much on wear, but the front tire makes it feel like I'm riding on a thin rail. Its a challenge to keep it in a straight line, and at any speeds above 55, it's somewhat scary! It seems that it wants to wobble back and forth, almost like it's too rounded to tack straigh. I was hoping that it might just need a little time to seat, but at this point I'm not too happy with what I'm feeling (the tire doesn't instill much confidence), and I'm wondering if my tire is defective.

Great Price for a great tire

I just bought these tires recently and put them on about a week ago haven't seen any tread fading of any sort as of yet and they look very nice on my bike (Yamaha vstar)

excellent tire for the price

After running one of these tires on my 95 Suzuki Intruder sv1400 for a year I purchased one for my Suzuki GS850g. Both are touring bikes. I am very pleased with the ride and grip for touring.

Good all round value for the money

I was referred to this brand by another rider who rides 60 miles every day in Tampa FL. I bought both front and back tires for a custom 800 cc cruiser and they have done everything I've asked of them.<br /><br />Good dry and wet traction in hot and tropical rainstorms.

Quite satisfied with this product

Cannot comment on tire wear or wet traction at this time. Mounted easily and was almost in perfect balance. Hangs onto the road quite well in dry conditions. Have not ridden it wet yet and have not put enough miles on to comment on tire wear.

Great tires for those who realize H-D is just a sales gimmick

I installed these front and back on a 2005 sportster<br />they grip well in corners and on wet roads. For the price I paid compared to the Dunlop's that are stamped H-D (high-dollar) I'll stick with these.

Rear tire

I put it on a 2006 1200 Sportster and it a nice smooth ride and handles the curves nicely.

Long Live the Tire

I've bought a few of these tires over the years, originally for an '81 XS850 and most recently on a 2000 XL883. Great tires for the money, especially if you tend to put more than a few miles on your rigs. Once they need another set of shoes I'll likely be ordering some more.

These are NICE tires

Quiet, grippy, good ride,easy install, easy balance, cool looking tread, can't beat the price. My Goldwing likes them. I hear rumours of shorter tread life. My rear measured 1/3 worn after a 5000km trip so that points to 15,000 km tread life.

So far I haven't been able to ride the bike much as I have been out of town however the miles I have put on , the bike does feel so much smoother than what was on it before. The handling on corners is amazing, My last bike I used Shinko and had some great success with them so I highly recommend these to anyone over the other brands

A solid choice

I've had these tires on for a couple years, rode from San Diego to Oregon with them as well as many shorter trips and just around town. The rear is wearing out with about 8K miles, and I could probably get another 1-2K out of the front. I'm replacing both with the same. Solid tire, great price, good handling, good tread life.

Great Tire for Cheap

This set of front and back tires for my Harley Sportster were half the price I was expecting to pay. They fit perfect and ride great so far.

Received tires had to mount it on my 2017 S40 Suzuki Regional tires lasted 7000 miles on a rear I change both front and back tire so far a lot better than original tires at about half the price so far very happy with the tires I don't know how long they're going to last I'll let you know

Great tire for the price.

They went on a 1979 Kawasaki 650. <br />I rode them hard and in the wet. <br />GREAT tire. <br />I wasn't able to perform any acrobats with these tires however they did keep me stuck to the ground and worked great on the freeway. No slipping, no issues.<br />Love this tire! <br />The offset line in the front kept me from wobbling on the freeway with the grooved road surfaces.

Great for the price

I bought my Kawasaki vulcan with these tires already on it and put another 8k on the bike before I had to change it and there was still life left in the tire. I didn't realize I had bought the exact same tires until I went to get the old ones off. Never had any issues and they grip great, just follow me through some twisties at night to see the sparks coming off the runningboards

I purchased these tires because of the great reviews that they have. These tires are, having only a couple of hundred miles on them, great. They really hold their grip well and I feel very comfortable with them. They handle corners well and make for a smooth ride. I would definitely recommend these tires to anyone.

Very impressed!

I had these installed on my 05 harley xl1200c and I love them! Super sticky even in cold weather. I found my new tire if they last as long as others have said. Will def buy these again!

Cheap tire, poor quality

This tire grabs the slightest groove in the road and pulls my bike into it. The 777 is definitely better than the 230. Would not recommend due to the handling issues with this tire.

Great Tire so far

Have put a couple hundred miles so far on this tire. So far it has given great road response, grip, and overall handling. Would highly recommend this.

Comfortable and Grippy!

I put a 230 Tour Master on the front of my GL500i to replace a weather checked Dunlop 404 and what a difference! A lot of the low speed wobble disappeared and the bike just falls into corners now with no hesitation. I'm dragging the centerstand now! I put a Shinko 777 HD on the rear and the pair work well for the spirited touring I do. No telling when this front will wear down, the rear has about 5K on and it's just beginning to square off and this bike wears rears about 3:1 to fronts. This is a nice tire.

Best tire I've rode on yet! They hold the road an the load of me an a passenger comfortably. If these tires last 10,000 miles I'll be a Shinko tire guy for life!!

Good tire

These replaced Shinko 712's and Pirelli Sport Demons. Thought I'd try the 230's this time. I'll go back to the 712's next time. The 712's were not as sticky as the Sport Demons, but, they lasted longer and were good enough for my riding (not that aggressive)<br /><br />The tires are OK but seem a little less sticky on wet roads. Not sure about wear yet, but, probably will be the same as the 712's. They seem to 'wander' a bit in rain grooves.<br /><br />Not a bad tire, but, not great for me.

All around awesome

These tires are great, I can't think of any other way to describe them. I installed them on a 2002 Suzuki Savage LS650 and they perform wonderful in both dry and wet weather. They struggled a little in loose gravel (but that is to be expected), however held on MUCH better than my old tires did! I would highly recommend these tires!

Hard to believe you can get those together anymore....great product and price! Nothing to fear with these tires they look right and feel right! Solid construction, great tread pattern and depth. As long as they wear as advertised I will be buying many more.

Bang for the buck

Just put this tire on my Shadow VT 1100 Spirit. Impressed with the grip. My last tire (old dunlop) was having issues wandering on rough road surfaces, and the difference is night and day. Rock solid tire. Will update with tread life review when it has sorme more miles on it.

Center wore out and showed wires sooner than expected?

Tires wore out extremely quickly for normal riding, notice after a couple months the center of the tire was nearly gone, the sides looked amazing but now in November I’ve noticed the sides have lost little tread while the center has already started to show wires.

Shinko Tournaster

I use these tires on all my vintage bikes. Low rolling resistance with excellent grip in both wet and dry conditions. Unbeatable deal for the budget conscious buyer.

I was skeptical, as many people in the reviews BUT, I really like them! Great deal, fraction of the price,they look great, feel great. They're WAY more sticky than the original HD Dunlops. They may not last as long as the Dunlops(the way I ride) but, the confidence in handing and turns is way better the the original HD version. I'm impressed

I have used all the major brand tires on my 76 KZ900 over the last 27 years and this is the best i have had. i would normally get 5000 to 6500 miles on my rear tire but got over 12,000 miles with this Shinko. Grips great in all conditions.

It's black and it's round

Just like the last tire I bought it's black and it's round. How can you rate a tire without getting some miles on it to test it's longevity? Ask me in another six months or so when I have some wear on it!

Brought my bike from hard to handle to handling like a dream. The thing I like best is that they don't follow tar lines, or other lines in the road. They also look great on my Suzuki Boulevard C50T.

Needed new tires for a 1986 Goldwing I bought cheap . Mounted them myself without balancing . Tires ride good with no vibration . Seem to steer good leaning into corners . Don’t know how long they will last . I am<br />satisfied with them .

THESE TIRES ARE STICKY. FEELS GREAT. LAYING INTO CURVES NOW.<br />Haven't ran these long so I can't comment on mileage nor have I rode in wet conditions.<br />I bought these expecting sticky good grip and not concerned with mileage. I will buy new ones when needed.

Perfect for my bike

Bought for a 78 goldwing gl1000. They ride very nice and smooth i did ride them in rain and dry. When they are dry i have full confidence and no problem dragging my pegs at any speed they stick so nice. When the read is wet they felt really nice as well. Im always more cautious in the rain so i didnt push them to hard but they were grippy and at no point did i feel like they wanted to slip out. Gravel is slick so dont try to hot dog it to much but they do just fine for crusing down gravel roads. Mud good luck. I have a little over 7,000 miles and the rear one is about ready to replace. The front is pretty good and doesnt need replaced yet, about half tread left. I felt more confident and stuck to the road on these then when i had 404 tires on it.

Pretty good stick and good wear.

These tires work well for an XS1100 Standard, last about 10k on the back, and wear evenly. Price is really good for what you get. Easy to mount, fine on wet roads, and I haven't punctured one yet even on dirt roads and at 40 psi. <br /><br />Premium brand tires this size (130/90-17) are limited and aren't very high tech either - this is a stout bias ply tire.

Great tire for the price

I chose these tires based on recommendations from my motorcycle's forum and the price. I was planning on going for more expensive tires that are supposed to last longer. After discovering I can easily change the tires myself, I would rather go with a cheaper, stickier tire more often. Balance beads made these tires butter smooth. <br />I will be buying these again when I wear out this set of Shinkos.

Front tire odd bounce

Front tire shipped quick from second party, front tire has caused a bounce like its out of balance but balance checks out good off the bike. Running low pressure to minimize bounce feel. Hoping to get threw the fall. 100/90_19 w/ a tube mount and balance was $30

Great bang for the buck

Made the decision to go with this tire on a lighter weight cruiser. It balanced out well and works well wet or dry. It's a great choice if you're on a budget.

Great tire, great price

Initially I was skeptical of motorcycle tires priced so low. After all, saving a few bucks isn't worth putting my life on the line. But after my uncle recommended them (btw, he's been riding over 50 years and used to race moto-x & flat track), I started looking at them more seriously. They had way more positive reviews than I expected, so I decided to give them a try. Riding home from the shop I noticed an immediate difference. The grip is exceptional. My riding confidence has been restored. These seem to be pretty darn good tires for the money. I can't address longevity or adverse weather conditions yet. I've only had them a week. But so far I am impressed. And if they hold up, they are worth the investment.

Good value and well behaved

I'm not brand loyal but I have been running shinkos on most of my bikes for years now. This was the first time trying them on a large motorcycle (cb900c)where I previously ran d404s. The tires offer plenty of traction in wet or dry, they are quiet on the highway and have no issues with stability at high speeds. Another winner for shinko

Looks and rides nice on my VTX. Tread is deep especially in center so should last. First time for me using the 230, will likely buy these again.

Good value

Have not ridden in rain yet, but am very pleased with handling and performance. Usually get 10,000 miles of service out of tires on this cruiser bike,only time will tell, but so far I am very pleased. Have used metzler and Bridgestone tires in the past, on this bike.

Great Tire, great price.

I bought these tires after riding on 2 sets of Shinko 777"s on my 04 RoadStar. They were great on the cruiser. So, I felt confident in the Shinko brand that I never hesitated in buying and putting them on my old XJ 900 RK Seka. These tires have met all my expectations and all with a fantastic price to boot. I can't really comment on Tread Life but after 2,000 miles, I can't detect much wear on the rear tire.

Great value over OEM replacement

I got these tires based on price after reading a bunch of positive reviews. I put them on my 2009 Vulcan 900 Custom. I've done a mix of lots of busy city and some highway driving. Grip is an upgrade from OEM definitely. They hug the road and inspire confidence. Driving them back from the shop after having them installed was a night and day difference, I was hauling into corners all over the place. I have not driven in wet weather no put on thousands of miles so I can only guess Average ratings on those two counts. Overall make your bike fun to ride though and feel great as far as confidence and safety goes. Recommended!

great tires!

Although I cannot comment on the tread life so far, as I have only put about 1000 miles on them. And most of that was the few days after installing them. Low noise, good dry grip, little slippery when wet (but I was still breaking them in) and the profile rides very smooth when upright or lay in into a corner. Overall, I would recommend these to anyone, and will likely use them for years to come as long as the tread life is good.

Awesome tire for less than $50. Even with paying someone to mount and balance this tire it was less expensive than what I could have got locally. I've put about 1000 miles on it and it's still not showing any sign of wear.

I've had the Shinko Tourmaster on for about 600 miles so far. In this time I can tell the traction is superior to the Dunlop 404 that was previously on the bike. Being one of the cheapest selections out there its definitely a good value.<br /><br />I have only ridden in wet conditions once with this tire and didn't have any problems, but it was only a short ride home from work so I can't really speak to its wet traction. Same for tread life, so far it seems fine but I've seen reviews ranging from 6,000 miles to 12-15000 miles out of this tire. I'll know when I put more miles down.<br /><br />At the price, if I can get 8-10,000 miles out of the tire I will consider it a good value as two of these tires is less than one of the go to brands like Metzler, and two of them will pretty much average out at the same tread life as one Metzler. A good low-budget option for those that don't have the money to put down on a metzler.<br /><br />All in all I'm happy with the Shinko so far. A good friend of mine also put Shinko tires on his Goldwing at the same time I put them on my Shadow.

We haven't had this tire too long, but from what we can tell it's as good or better than the more expensive tire it replaced. We are planning to purchase the matching back one soon.

Shinko tires.

These look and feel great on my Son's VTX. They were shipped to the store and we had them mounted and balanced. Customer service was excellent.

Not worth the money.

Absolute garbage. Got one season out of them and they are weather cracked already. Don't waist your money like I did.

This is my second rear tire from Shinko and love it! They wear and track the road like on rails.

Goldwing Rides way better

My bike had some very old dunlops, handlebar slap, previous owner had a million balance beads in them. These drastically improved handling and ride for me on my 86 aspencade. If you're whipping a marketplace wing like me I would recommend these

They were good tires but the tread was gone after about 7k miles. For me though they were installed in September and I'm replacing them in December. I use the bike as my primary vehicle and I had a couple trips but I have a vulcan 900 so Im not doing a ton of burnouts or anything.

Just replaced the tires on my 2020 V7 Special. Great ride and handling. I'm not dragging a knee, but very positive feeling in the twisties.

Great tire for the money!

Got a set for a bike I was selling and liked them so I got a front for my bike. I thought they would wear fast because they felt soft but after 100 miles the front on my bike still had the nipples in the center. They grip the road real well also but haven’t got caught in the rain yet to see how they handle.

Didn't have good luck this time.

2400 miles and the tires are about 85% worn. I have had Shinkos in the past with good luck. Maybe this was just a bad run. They performed well on my 2007 Heritage Softail but just not lasting. It was an extremely hot summer here so maybe that has something to do with it. I will buy Dunlops next year.

Shinko 230 rear tire for Suzuki

I only rode on it twice, but so far, the ride is smooth. I removed the existing wheel weights and used balancing beads. No shakes, wobbles or vibrations. If the tread lasts a decent amount of time, I would recommend this tire and buy another

Good all around tires, good price, good ride.

These were replacements for a 94 BMW K75 that was pristine except the tires. These were a great replacement so far. Much easier to maneuver, stickier, smooth. So far, so good.

Great tires. First trip after install i took the bike up over the mackinaw bridge. Rode the grates and everything. Just a bit of wobble on the grates. Tar snakes, cracks, and longitudal concrete joints barely effect these. About a 200 mile trip. So smooth and so well priced. I have over 500 miles on them now and they look barely used. Will be the go to for my 85 goldwing limited.

Okay so far

I haven't put that many miles on it yet but it seems to be just fine, no problems. It was the easiest tire to mount that I have ever done, after laying in the Texas sun for a couple of hours it popped right on.

Shinko Tires 230 tour master

Had bought these in the past. Date code is 2009. They still look good. No dry rot. But thought it was time for some new ones. The compound is way better and improved feel. Revziller shipped them super fast. 2 days and to my door. Wish all the venders were like this. 5 stars. Will buy from them again. ??

Good tire for a little money

I usually order the Shinko 777 but this looked good and saved me a little money. Looks like a solid tire with a good tread. Shinkos usually last about 10,000 miles so I'm satisfied

Too early to say although I do like the look of the tire it handles well including in the rain however with regards to mileage I'll have to wait and see. Doesnt look out of place on my classic bike which calls for 4×18...

Great grip but wears quickly.

Loved these tires. Great sure footed grip.<br /><br />My only complaint is that they did not last very long. These lasted me about 7,000 miles in 14 months. Perhaps that is what you get for sticky rubber. It wears quickly.

Shinko 230 Tour Master

Quiet and decent miles

On a Honda Pacific Coast, I got about 8k miles from the set. Im biased to using the front brake and accelerate/brake pretty aggressively which is why the front tire didn't out live the rear. Tires were quiet and had good grip for the needs of a touring bike. Great commuter tire.

I've gotta say, very sticky tire. Riding in the mountains you'll stick especially in the summer, but my only complaint is that it wore out insanely quick. Mind you I'm on this tire multiple times a week. Either way it's cheap sticky good for season riders

Did not expect this!

I purchased these tires as a cheap alternative to get my 96 Vulcan 1500 classic from Michigan back home to Colorado. I was stunned at how well they handled and how great the wear was. I took the long way home and drove Route 66 down to New Mexico then up to Colorado so I put around 2000 miles on them and they hardly show any wear at all. I will be buying these again for this bike if I ever wear this pair out.

Shinko 230 Tour Master Front Tire V Star 1100 Custom 110/90/18

So far so good. I finally had this Shinko installed a few months ago on my Vstar 1100 Custom front rim (110/90/18) after ordering it a couple years ago. It seems like a very decent tire and it has felt safer than my Metezler when stuck in the rain. I’ll be switching to the Shinko 999 for the rear once need a new rear tire. The Metzeler lasts a long time but the grip in the rear is not that great. I only have 1000 miles on the Shinko so I don’t know about longevity but I see zero wear so far. I don’t ride super aggressive around the twisties though. <br /><br />This is the inner-tube I used for the front. Same tires I installed on my old springer 6k miles and still look like new , minor flat spots in center of tire but still great tread , daily commute is mostly straight away highway. Handles corners great ,(it's a Harley not dragging a knee )no slipping and sliding in wet weather. Overall completely satisfied with the ride and durability of the tour masters.

Shinko Front tire review

This is my second Shinko, same model as before, same bike...2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000. I bought it again because the 1st one was so good, even tried wear, long life, great handling and traction. Originally I had trouble with the name, just doesn't sound reputable... but lots of great reviews and my experience, now the word Skinko sounds quality (OK, not quite but you get my drift!)

I put them on my 1978 Suzuki GS750. I went oversize on them to get the rpm down on my 47 year old bike. They handle great for the type of riding I do mostly. (I bought the bike new in 1979)

Very sticky dry weather grip '04 Harley Ultra Classic 150/80 16, was fine grip in wet, price is great, but mileage was down got about 4-5k miles, this could be improved as I tend to be hard on tires. This tire is a winner in grip, dropped clutch giving this tire all it could handle and it popped the front tire in the air and didn't slip, wave very impressed with this even in a skinny 150/80 tire!

Shinko Tour Masters on 2008 Yamaha RSTD

Very well built tires. They ride quiet and have good grip. The front tire has changed how my 2008 Royal Star Tour Deluxe handles. I have always needed to push the handle bars and hold pressure to stay in a turn. Not with the Shinko's, when you put the bike into a turn it stays there until you tell it to stand back up. It feels like it's on rails. I was concerned about this at first, because in the past my bike was eager to stand back up and go straight. Now it is very happy in the turns no matter my speed. In my opinion this has made my bike better but more advanced because you have to stay focused all the time. On the old Pirelli's I could ride hands off the bars on straight line to mild curves. Now if you lean at all she lowers her shoulder to turn. It took me more than 100 miles to get to know my machine again, they are that different, but I am liking the new attitude.

I've been using Shinko tires (777) since 2010 and loved it, this is the first time I've used 230. I get between 10,000 to 14,000 miles on my 777. Mileage are all commute.

Rode for 4-5 hours this weekend, and the ride was smooth and comfortable.

MY FIRST SHINKO TIRE

This is my first experience with Shinko after 200 miles so far so good. After 30 years Metzler made it unable for me to afford with their high price. I plan to gradually change over to Shinko,on my bikes a much more affordable tire, if all goes well with this one.

Nice tire

Good tires for the price on my Vulcan 800. They don't handle the best but they do grip, handling could be just an old cruiser. The only issue is the rear tire is about done after 3,500 miles and may have 500-1,000 left in it. The front tire has the same mileage and still has a like new tread. Would recommend for a small cruiser, but I'm going to put a better rear tire in this time.

Sticky Tire

I've got this tire on a Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 900. Rode in the rain thru the Kentucky mountains and this tire was great. It grabs the road even when hitting the twisties a bit to fast. Was able to scrape the floor boards and the tire stayed put. Have about 1500 mile so far and they look to have only lost 1/32. They should make it at least 7000 mile at this rate.

The ordering process was simple. Delivery took only a couple of days. The tire has only been on for two days but the ride is very smooth.

Good but not for daily highway riders in hot weather

These are great tires for a casual rider. They have fantastic grip in the rain and even better in dry conditions. Only problem is, living in Florida and a daily highway rider of about 90 miles per work day, these tires don't hold up. I got about 5,000 miles on the rear tire probably a little less than that. Front tire still ok. I ride on a mix of asphalt and concrete now with the new express lane being all concrete about 25 miles worth. This isn't an acceptable wear for me as I'm a daily rider. I'm going back to the Metzlers marathons. I pay much more, but it's worth the price and they do alright in all weather conditions.

Very Pleased with this Inexpensive Tire Option

Tires are significantly softer than the really old ones that I replaced, which had become extremely stiff and brittle. The ride is greatly improved with improved traction and handling. I'm very pleased.

Wasn't the tire that I was really wanting. That was "Out Of Stock" The Michelin from tire was what I was wanting. But so far this Shinko tire seams to be ok. No problems in cornering. Or on wet roads.

Short term tire

This is a good short term tire as the cruisetec wasn't available at the time. It's wearing pretty fast in the middle at around 2K miles. Handles well in dry but wet traction is only average. Tire has spun out in the rain before.
