Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the whitewall, black wall, and double white stripe options?

All use the same tire and performance; the difference is sidewall styling. Choose whitewall for classic cruiser looks, black wall for solid black, or double white stripe for vintage street bike style.

Will this tire work for highway riding?

Yes. The aramid belting and high-mileage compound are engineered for sustained highway speeds and long-distance touring.

How many miles can I expect from these tires?

Shinko rates the Classic 240 for extended mileage. Actual wear depends on your riding style, road conditions, and maintenance.

Is this a front-only tire?

Yes — this part number is for the front wheel only. Order the matching Shinko rear tire separately.

Does this fit my 2020+ Harley?

Vintage Look, Not Vintage Price

I had previously purchased one of these to replace my rear tire and wanted to have matching tires on the front and rear. The thick black sidewall and vintage tread seem to catch everyones eye. I've heard mixed feelings about the performance of these tires in wet conditions. I've ridden around town a little while it was raining (30-40MPH) I didn't notice any issues.

Trike front tire, flat tread profile as desired

This tirehad the flat tread profile I desired for my trike dyna low rider. Easy installation, bead seated easily, and balanced without a ton of weights. About 200 miles on out and it pushes less than Dunlop tires do when taking off. I hope they keep making this tire.

Nice retro style with square-ish profile for side car

Put these on my Side Car tug, a Moto Guzzi Cal II. It has 16" rims to make it geared somewhat lower. The tires have made the rig handle 100% better and they look great too! As far as tread life this is just a projection from what I have heard.

Great looking tire for my vintage bike. On the front is where these really shine. Really has the old school look and last a long time. Perfect tire pressure is 36 lbs.

On the rear you don't see much of them on my bike because of the bags. They only last about 4000 miles and I don't horse it around a lot, some, but not all the time. I'm going to put a normal cruiser tire on the rear.

Rated 5 stars for the look on the front and 3 stars for millage on the rear. That makes it about a 4 star rating.
