Waste of money ! Bike stopped running in the middle of Main Street called Vance Hines twice and they sent me a map that ran great up to 60mph and after that no throttle response, they wouldn’t take it back and finally admitted the discontinued Fp3 was better if they would at least t take back the FP4 and trade it for the FP3 I would have been ok but they didn’t so I threw away $459 never buy another Vance Hines product
Buyer beware
This tuner has been nothing but a problem for me. The app is just coming around to being somewhat useable. The autotune feature has caused my bike to run hotter and causes random dead spots in the throttle when I accelerate past 50% throttle. If you purchase this tuner, just be advised that you might be in for heartache. I would opt for the FP3 if you can find one, or a quality dyno tune. I wish I could recommend this, but I cannot at this time.
In a word or two, find something else until they own up to their mistakes.
The only reason I do not give it a zero is that none are offered. This unit is junk. I have had 3 FP3’s all good as I can remember no problems in 3 bikes. I was warned about the FP4 but wouldn’t listen. What makes this even worse is the tech department won’t own it. No accountability. The problem is all on my end even though the unit functioned as advertised for two weeks then became intermittent, now not functioning. Buyer beware I say.
Disappointed !
I wanted to upgrade my 2017 FLHTK to a FP4 from a FP3 since V&H said it was much better. It has only been a disappointment, no Cam or Injector updates I could use. So I put the FP3 back realizing I was much better off with with what I had. Status: 460$ down the drain and now know that V&H had released a Programmer which with no base in reality of what Harley Riders need…!

I have an Fp3 and it works pretty well. I read all the bad and good reviews on the Fp4 and decided I’ll buy it anyway since The fp3 did what I wanted. DO NOT buy this product. All you can do is add a canned map. Fine for pipes and air cleaner only. But if you need anything else at all this will not work. I’m currently running S&S 475 cams in my ‘18 street glide and with the fp4 when I hit 3000 rpm it spits putters and loses power. I wrote Vance and Hines. Their answer??!!!<br />“This is a California compliant system and will not tune for cams. You will need to get another tuner or have the bike dyno tuned.”<br />Really!!!??? They advertise this as the greatest tuner. in all reality it is a marketing scam. Once you put it on your bike, you cannot return it. So everyone that buys this and finds out that it does not do what they advertise. They just tell you sorry get something else. They do not care about the poor reviews, because they already made their money. Do as you wish but this is a true warning for anybody looking to do anything to their bike other than new pipes.
2025 review- Very easy and it worked just fine.
It worked just fine for me. Seamless and quick.<br /><br />2015 FLHTK<br /><br />I had slip ons for several months, did an air cleaner/filter upgrade and used the FP4. Bike definitely runs BETTER. I'm not sure it gained anything HP or torque wise but it just runs better.The bike runs smoother and sounds better.<br /><br />I had ZERO issues with the tuner. Plugged it in, used the app to connect to the Bluetooth, it needed an update. Did that in about 2 minutes. Then found the configuration that the V&H tech I emailed before I received the tuner recommended for my setup. Flashed it and that was that. Easy peasy.
V&H support… useless
For stage 1 applications it’s great… any of the other stages… Forget it!! Vance & Hines support pretty useless…they said “ you’re on your own “no maps for common cam set ups… I was told I still had to have it Dyno tuned.. good luck finding a Dyno shop that supports the FP4 .. save your money
Way worse than FP3
This thing is horrible compared to the FP3. Doesn't support cams, doesn't support most other exhaust systems besides V&H and doesn't support air filter upgrades. It's no longer something that is worth the money. Spend your money at a shop and have your bike tuned correctly.

Waste of money
I purchased this for my 2019 FXBB. There is next to no functionality. I used it to tune and the bike ran very erratically. I called Vance and Hines and ran through 2 gas tanks as they recommended. Auto tune was the n released for the app and it had lackluster performance. I ended up going to my stock tune which ran way better. I later found out that they won?t be supporting cam changes, which truly makes this a paperweight. Save your $500 as the product is useless.

1 star pending V&H correcting the issue. Bought the FP4 and due to weather, was finally able to get the bike out and flash a map. Connected fine on initial start up, but once I attempted to download a map from V&H with my setup, kept getting an error message "FP4 not link to bike". I can ride with it "connected" and it shows gauges, temp, RPM, voltage etc but can't download the map. Also, the app has no Auto Tune feature anywhere. Complete dud as of now. I'd look for something else.
Not worth the money.
Module pack constantly disconnects in the middle of readings and loads. I have reached out to Vance and Hines about it with no response. Definitely not worth the money, as it causes more issues then anything.

iOS App is absolute trash autotune wasn't worth a damn BECAUSE the FP4 would keep losing connection so once you get everything going download the tune V&H have already done and never use the app again unless you want to clear codes
Wow! Easy to use and what a difference.
While waiting for my slip-ons, did a ?stock? tune on my stock 21 Heritage 114. Wow! What a difference. Smoothness, power, all on a stock setup. Can?t wait for my Eliminators.

Terrible. App is clunky/doesn't work correctly. Auto tuning is a pain. FP4 is way over priced for its performance.
Works as advertised!
Works great. Reflashed my ECU on my 2022 Harley Lowrider ST with just stock parameters. Worked great. Used my Iphone 13 Pro Max running the latest IOS. Afterwards, engine runs and idles smoother. Also throttle response seems improved over the OEM map. <br /><br />Only issue I encountered a couple times was my Iphone saying it couldn't talk or find the FP4. Simply turned off the bike unplugged and plugged the FP4 back in, let the app reconnect and all was fine. No issues during the upload of the map. <br /><br />Cleared the codes and went for a ride. Everything works including cruise control. <br /><br />I knew exactly what I was getting. I knew the FP4 was only good for a stage 1 upgrade. I do think it is indeed a bit pricey for only a stage 1 unit. Also it's still a bit big to fit under the cover and it won't fit on the seat of a softail. So I'm just going to plug it in as needed. But I'm happy with it. Can't wait to get my 2 into 1.
Better than what the overall rating is
Recently bought this for my 2022 Iron 883 sportster and first I just used stock maps until I finally did auto tune today. Runs SO much better with auto tune mapped. 4/5 only because while I was riding for my tuning, the app froze twice when I hit high RPM/TPS, but still got the job done. I would recommend to friends.
Decent product
I’m seeing a lot of mixed reviews on here. I will say that it works great for my Stage 1 set up on my 15 Sportster 1200 SL. Big sucker air cleaner, cobra slip ons. It doesn’t seem to backfire any where near what it used to which was my biggest pet peeve. Has a cleaner idle and better throttle response. My only real issue with it was the price I paid. But overall happy with the product. Like anything else there are ppl with good and bad experiences.

Installed FP 4 along with Arlen Ness big sucker high flow air intake along with Vance and Hines monster slip one. Bike runs so much better! Stronger! When putting on FP4 make sure battery is fully charged as download takes some time on your battery. Otherwise all went well, super easy, well worth it
