Avoid FP4
Please take into consideration the fp4 is marketed to be EPA compliant so it can sell in California. This means unlike the fp3 it has no ability to customize for engine modifications like the pv4. I went with an fp4 foolishly thinking it had the ability to account for pipes with no baffles or different cams. Their customer service proudly declares their EPA compliance and says you need to go Dino tune somewhere. If you gonna keep your bike bone stock it is fine.
FP4 isn't worth the mony
FP4 is an expensive lesson to buy a different tuner. I've successfully flashed my bike 7 times with this tuner and it still won't start. The engine light doesn't come on and does the same reverting back to stock tune. I cannot successfully upload ECU content because a "checksum wrong" error pops up. The 1st FP4 I bought was non working. V&H did a great job quickly replacing it. But my 2020 RG Limited still sits in my garage. I'll try speaking with a V&H tech one more time when they open Monday. If unable to get positive results will buy a real tuner. At this point my V&H FP4 is a $464 paper weight as it is my understanding that once you connect it to your bike, there is no refund. My advice to people buying a tuner is to get a TTS, Thindermax or Power Vision.
Worked for a week
It worked well at first. Plugged in and tuned flawlessly. It?s been about a week now and the app says I?m connected but can?t tune or edit anything. I recently changed the baffles and wanted to install a new map but it won?t connect on iPhone or Android. Crazy how something that was so expensive can have this many problems.

This tuner is pricey for what it offers and doesn't do much. The software is slow and quirky and their support is geared towards a consumer who doesn't know much. The autotune constantly loses connection and once you download more than 5 or 6 maps trying to get it right, it locks you out. A waste of money, in my opinion.

Useless, dont buy unless you have all vance and hines stuff and even then still dont buy, very limited tunes, doesn't actually write to the ecu, spend the real money and get the ProVision from dynojet, this is overpriced garbage

Waste of money
Biggest piece of garbage I've used. The small mindedness of this so called tuner is a joke. I have a 2017 Streetglide M8, that's a 107. Apparently baggers can't run a 2 into1 exhaust like a thunderheader. This piece of trash won't even update... it just thinks about it. I work on and build bikes, this is the one short cut I've taken and I'm regretting it! Just spend the money on the Screaming Eagle tuner from Harley. You can truly get the best tune that way. Yes you pay a certified shop to do it but you are paying for their experience which I have because I use to be a tech at a Harley shop building motors and building bikes not just doing service work.<br /> I may just be missing something with this tuner but if I can't get the damn thing to connect or even update then in my book that's a huge red flag!!!
Easy install took all of 5 minutes and my de-acceleration pop is gone
Plugged this bad boy in on my 2015 ultra classic. The first start was rough! I went to rev up the engine and it died!. I thought oh crap i fried it and now its not going to work. I started the bike again and let it run for a little to warm up. I rode just 2 miles and while sitting at the stop light rev'd it up again, this time she came alive. I then went on a 275 mile trip that included stop and go traffic, highway, back roads at 45 mph and mountain riding. On my way home it ws already apparent that the bike was running smoother and the throttle has a different response. I love this thing and cant wait to see what all I can do with it.
It works good when you can keep it connected to the app.

Received the runner I. Good condition during shipping. Installed in minutes and followed an install via YouTube. It was an easy process and was the easiest out of my stage one instal.
FP4 Review
Worked as advertised, with V & H providing their usual excellent support. Provided some high end torque, settled down my rough idle, but most importantly eliminated the annoying de-cel pop.<br />J & P of course always hit a grand slam!!

Constant check engine lights, very minimal things you can do to "tune" your bike. Waste of money.

Install and tuning was simple and easy. The only reason I didn't give five stars was because I could not get the tuner to connect to my iphone. Fortunately, I had a android phone laying around so i was able to use it to tune my bike.
Keeps losing connection
Keeps losing connection. The app is easy to download and follow. I downloaded the initial map and went to autotune. Took nearly 10 rides and the autotune would not collect any data. then when I tried to upload a new map it would lose connection and kick me out of the program. Didn't get anywhere with it. Had to take it in to the dealer and they don't use FP4 so had to shell more money for another tuner. Disappointing.

Listen to me, you can message their customer service for technical questions from the app, and their response is fast, they even send you specific maps for your individual needs. This is a great product, but their customer support makes it even grater!
Worst investment.
I bought this because of brand recognition (and it is substantial cheaper than Thundermax). But trust me, you will do better flushing your money down the toilet. It has been a few months since I bought it so I have good duration running this product on my bike. <br /><br />The app is buggy. It constantly crashes. Even you have a VH exhaust, the tuning process is painful. If you don't run a VH exhaust, you will have to court the device like you are trying to get to third base...You will have to run autotune etc, then upload to VH, then they fix the map, then you flash the new map (HEADACHE). AND if you EVER think about upgrading to Stage 2 and up. TOUGH luck! <br /><br />Oh and they promise release for cams setup...It barely works for Stage 1. <br /><br />If you don't run into trouble early, you will later. This product is super rushed. It is at least 2-3 years too early for release.
Nothing like the FP3. I don't recommend.
Not nearly as good as the FP3 I had on my last bike. Installed on my 13 Heritage Classic. The only options for exhausts are V&H and stock Harley, not even a generic option like it shows on their videos. No options for intakes, no optimization options. It appears that the android version of the software has more options than the iPhone version based on a chart from their website. Pretty sure I just wasted 450 bucks.

Ok so heres my honest review of the fp4. I just got it for my 2022 Iron 883. This tuner woke my bike up. I dont care what some older guys say about the sportsters vut they are honestly fun bikes for what they are. Since tuning it for my filter and exhaust its ran so much better and the decel pop is gone. I was also able to chnage my idle to have it lower when the bike is to temp. Side note too i use a galaxy A15 which isnt the best but i had zero issues with the app and updating took less than 5 minutes.

Let me preface by saying I've never used an FP3 tuner or any other tuner for a motorcycle, this is my first experience with V&H FP4. As a first time user, this was super simple to use. So far, it has connected to my phone every time. I was able to upload my tune with no issues. The gauges are responsive when looking at the interface on my phone. The instructions were clear, the device was easy to use, and customer service was helpful when I reached out to ask which tune to use. There isn't a lot of options as far as selecting a tune. I used the Cobra 909 exhaust and there wasn't an option for that so they told me to use the short shots standard baffles as it was the closest to my set up. I will probably end up running an auto tune cycle on my bike to see if it can get the bike better than it already is. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase and it woke my bike up.
Too easy
Not sure what other people's problems with this are. It is super easy to install and use, the app even has a demo mode to practice with first. I am not a super tech savvy guy and I managed to make it work first time go.

Was not impressed with the fp4 after installing my compensator started slapping around and making a bunch of noise that's the second bike after installing one that that happened the fp3 much better

Decided to do an air intake and knew I’d need a tuner.<br />Went with V&H intake and FP4 tuner.<br />No problem installing and connecting tuner.<br />Downloaded the suggested MAP and went for a ride. Absolutely love it, totally different bike feels amazing.<br />Highly recommend

The Fp3 worked great with my 103 twin cam…. This makes my bike run like garbage. The online support guys are really helpful though.
Exactly As Described
I see a lot of negative reviews from people that either can't read or choose not to read. This thing works exactly as described. <br /><br />I had an issue with no tune being on my bike despite having the Vance and Hines exhaust so I was sputtering and misfiring a bit. This thing cleaned up my issue right after the install.<br /><br />The install directions on YouTube are not the best but if you poke around in the area that they point to, you'll figure it out.<br /><br />It's a little expensive but worth it for me, so far.
Works great. Put on screaming eagle air cleaner with screaming eagle slip ons. I think it runs much better with can map. Been running in auto tune for couple days now. One more trip to work and I should be done can't wait to feel the improvements

It has a problem connecting to Bluetooth. It takes a lot longer than expected. And it's nothing like FP3 At one point my bike would not start I had to Flash to the original just to make it start.
Expensive but worth it
Have a exhaust and intake on my xg750, it ran super lean. This fixed it. Easy to install and use, definitely worth it. Only negative is the auto/self tuning feature, it does not seem to pull the data and pretuned maps are a bit sparse. Still good product and gets the job done.
FP4
Was not a 'nigh & day' difference but definitely a difference. Eliminated the decel pop and gave it a smidge better throttle response. Also Seemed to make it smoother as I roll back on the throttle. I also like being able to monitor the bike temperature and fiddle with the other sensors. I like it.
The FP3 is much better, you get a more customized tune with the FP3.
Waste of money
Complete garbage, if you are only changing out your mufflers than this will work. The tuner has no support for open exhaust, aftermarket air cleaners, cams etc. The auto tune feature does nothing. Their website has no customer service contacts. Big step back from the FP3. I wish I had known and didn't waste my money.

I think this tuner works great. I purchased it new last season after they were able to work out some kinks, and I've never had any issues. I flashed my first Map right off the bat on my 2015 FXDL with the V&H Big Radius 2-2's and roland sands turbine cleaner, and it made it ride even better after the first MAP. I've also looked up some trouble codes that popped up, fixed and cleared the issue. I like the FP4, leave it in on some rides, and have the live sensor data on my phone when mounted on my bars. Probs going to Auto-tune this season even though the Map I flashed made it mint. I only wish it worked with cam upgrades or a big bore kit

Just dont.<br />Super easy to install and thats about the only good thing about it. First off trying to get the app to work is a whole deal and I was probably sitting in my garage for at least an hour trying to get the app to work. When it finally did work I started the autotune and followed the instructions on tuning it and now my bike runs the worst its ever been. Bike bogs when warming up when it used to never do that and bike runs super hot now for some reason. Sometimes I even get some smoke coming out of my bike. I tried other tunes and they made it worse so I just went back to autotune again and still the same. Now im out $450 and there used to be other reviews saying the same thing and I never read them until after I purchased and im sure now theyre just trying to cover up the old reviews. So in conclusion, SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
Vance & Hines Fuelpak FP4 ECU Tuner For Harley 2011-2022
Absolute junk, I?ve used the FP3 on my other bikes and had absolutely no issue. With this new FP4, with where the software is at you can only auto tune or load a preload map. You have no access to changing the d-cell pop, Regulator or throttle response. Would have been better off sticking to the FP3.

I have used V&H's FuelPaks for years. This new verision is even better. If you are adding exhaust, air cleaners etc you need this device to tune out the bike for the changes. Its fast and simple. You don't need to be an expert to use this. V&H has made it simple and get's your bike running at its peak. V&H also has the best customer service. If for some reason something isn't quite right they will look at your map, make changes and send it back to you for free. Love this device and love V&H!

Installation was pretty simple. I did the auto tune so i could tune it the way i ride here at home on The Three Twisted Sisters in Texas, When i applied and finished tune. took it for a spin and ran better than when brand new and sound was simply amazing. recommend to anyone whose looking for a stage one upgrade.

This thing has had many uses than i originally purchased it for! I keep it iny tool bag when i ride. If you plan on purchasing vanse and hines pipes, then this is a no-brainer.You will get lots of use out of this tuner i'm sure.

Easy to use. I had no problems with the app. I followed the directions and everything loaded per the instructions. I tried the auto tune but I was not a fan. The bike was running pretty rough for the whole auto tune process and I did not like the way it ran after it was done. I went though and did the setup from Vance and Hines and put in my air filter, exhaust, etc. and it ran great for those settings

Very happy with the FP4 I purchased for my 2015 Harley Davidson Street Glide FLHX. I have cobra neighbor hater slip ons and stock upper exhaust. Had decel pop but the FP4 took care of that. I also adjusted my throttle to standard plus and couldn't be happier. You can do a lot with this tuner!

The Best FP4 Worked like a charm for me. App kept crashing for AutoTune was riding for only 5mins then finished autotune and tried to apply it then the app crashed my mechanic recommended riding longer for AutoTune about 20min ride in the FP4 then the app didn't crash for me now bike is Mapped and reprogrammed for more air and fuel power. The app is good and would recommend. I'm riding a 2016 Softail and was worth it. saved me money from a dyno at the shop.

Fuel pak4 is working good for me. I have a used bike 2016 Fatboy S. I was having starting issue. Dealer ruled out battery and charging issues. Recommended a furl management tuning for around 780 dollars. Went with the fuel pak and saved hundreds of dollars. Yes, it fixed my starting issues. Bike runs better than ever.

It was stupid easy to tune my '19 Iron 883 with this tuner.. It took all of 5 minutes. <br />I used it with vance and hines v02 naked air cleaner and vance and hines twin slash mufflers...<br />I didn't have any connectivity issues at all.
I am returning it I did not open the package. It was more harder than I thought it was going to be.
2018 Harley Slim/bassani exhaust/s&s intake
Initial install and updates went ok, but there was not a map for my exhaust and intake which were not Vance and Hines; in delaying my install trying to find one, I lost connectivity and encountered difficulty getting blue tooth reconnected but I finally figured it out. I ended up having to use auto tune which appears to be mapping correctly. Why there is not a mapping option for other products available with the app, i just don’t understand. I would probably have made a different purchase had I known there was so little support for other after market options. Jury is still out on performance…
Never worked on its own, I had to call V&H support every time I used it.
Basic tuning works great, but the unit loses connectivity when trying to autotune and when using sensor function.

FP4 Fuel Pack
Plug & Play item. Great menu friendly and just follow instructions on install. Bike seems to run better with new fuel / air mixture. Noticed more power at takeoff.
FP4 Disappointing
Not a fan. Maybe it works better if using a Vance and Hines intake and pipes but for me it was a waste of $$$.
Terrible device
Useless device. Takes 30 tries to get it to connect to your phone and the only map that it had available essentially disabled my bike. Turning the throttle, engine would quit.
IOS version 16 or higher
At this time I have not used all of its options. You need to tell people with iPhones you have to a version 16 of iOS I would buy again now that I bought a new iPhone.

I bought this for my 2019 Fat Boy 114. Installation and updating is straight forward and I had ZERO issues with my iPhone 11. I left it connected and mounted it in the side panel with the data port. It was a bit snug but it will hold the FP4 in place. That said, I did the stock updating (havent done the auto tune yet) and felt ZERO difference in the way the bike performed. Also, my V&H 300 Eliminator slipons popped more when I installed them and the FP4 hasnt cured that yet. I will be doing an auto tune soon, even though V&H says you dont need to.

The fp4 to me is the way to go in my book. With the ability to use my phone and tune the bike is what I like. Will recommend and buy for the next project.

Not too happy. All it did was waisted my time ,not my money,because I took it back after spending 4 hours on it. I will just get a ThunderMax and be done. Uea its another 600$ but I know of no one who regrets buying one.

Does not work. I have iphone 14 pro max and the auto tune does not work at all. Yes I've restarted the phone, yes I've downloaded the updates on the phone and the FP4, Yes I've gone through the maps...Bitterly disappointed and I will be demanding a refund.

This is a decent product and the "auto-tune" offers live output monitoring that equates to dyno-tuning options. I was able to gather map sensor data at idle and in motion through controlling throttle and RPMs to populate the tuning map. Though, the auto-tune map data and memory retention is not reliable which has caused performance and function issues on my 2016 Softail build. I have intake, exhaust, stage 2 cams, cam plate, high-flow oil pump, custom audio, and converted tour front fairing, accessories and lighting.

Installation was even easier than imagined plug in follow prompts and boom maps are flashed.

What a great product with so much support from V & H. I?m very pleased with the performance of my bike now!
Nothing works.
Vance and Hines promised the world with all their advertising videos. What they didn?t do was put it through a very good beta test. I bought this for my 2018 street glide. And the only thing i was actually able to do was flash my bike. Auto tuning didn?t work; none of the sensors worked. I was using my iOS phone for this. Vance and Hines knew about the issues their customers were having but still sell them to the public. If you?re dead set on this tuner do not buy the FP4.
i have only put a little miles on the bike since i installed the fp4 on my 2020 road glide limited but so far it seems to ride a little smoother, however i did have to call vance&hines tech support which wasn't that patient or too professional, althought they did walk me through the downloading of the map.
I had to call V&H because Conra mufflers are not listed as a choice. They told me what to use. Everything worked great. The tune was a definite improvement, the trike runs great.
