Decent Bars, But Not The Best Ever
Okay, so I purchased these bars for many reasons, style, reputation of manufacturer, price etc. Wild1 certainly promotes themselves as superior to all other handlebar companies, but I can't jump on the Wild 1 train full steam like that because of a few caveats. <br /><br />First of all the powdercoating on these bars is pretty good, running the wires through them (Fly By Wire setup so very bulky on the throttle side) was not too hard if you've ever had experience pulling any kind of cabling. (i.e. data cables, electrical etc.) But I was hoping the interior of the bar would open up to 1-1/4", that is not the case, and I've been told that it is normal for fat bars to have a 1" I.D. so nothing against Wild1 there. These bars looks great once they're installed. Clean welds all around.<br /><br />Now, the stuff that really disappointed me. The biggest issue was that I ended up having to shave 3/8" off the left side of the bar so that my controls would sit up against the fat part. The stock clamp for a Softail Slim will not fit on these bars. I modified mine to make it fit, included a lot of drilling and grinding. The notching for FBW, and the holes for internal wiring were not very well finished and had sharp edges which I had to clean up myself, which is a big deal for the internal wires. I feel like for a company that touts being the best, I should not have had to do this much modifying on my new bars for them to fit properly. Now I have the tools and the skills to make all of this work, but if you're reading this and you're pretty inexperienced then you may want to look at your options.

I went with the 12 inch in the best color there is (black) on my Nightster. Bars look great, better to see in person than the pictures you see online, (But I reckon it's like that with anything). They fit perfect with the stock speedo. Running wires internally isn't difficult, but its a bit of a challenge because of the 90* turn at the base. (I suggest running weed eater string through and taping the wires to the string to pull them through). All in all, extremely pleased with these bad boys. I'm a guy who's 5-7 and the 12 is perfect. If i could suggest one thing to wild one, is where the bars make that turn at the base, maybe placing a curve internally so wiring is easier. I used the Burly 12 inch cable/wiring kit and had no issue.<br /><br />Now, the only reason its just a "Good" 'bang for your buck' and not a "Excellent" is because they weren't free lmao.<br /><br />I also have a dyna low rider with curved apes, and if you're flipping back and forth from these and the curved apes, these are definitely worth the extra $, so many more complements on these than the curved. Really shocked you don't see them more often.<br /><br />Hoped this helped and ride on
Better than I had imagined
These things are beautiful. I couldn't be happier with the bars. I went with the 12 inch in black. They look amazing on my iron. They were pretty easy to wire internally. The holes are pretty big and made it easy to run the lines. The 1 inch center section for the risers is the perfect width for the stock Iron 883 speedo bracket. I cant stop looking at them. Great bars, great craftsmanship and great price. Im surprised I haven't seen them around more often.
Simple mini apes for a simple guy
Like these way better for my shoulders than the original bars on my road king classic. Only subtly changes the look of your bike, so you don't look like you're trying to prove something with outrageously high apes. Best feature, is for me at 6', these bars are still a couple inches below shoulder level, which makes a huge difference for blood circulation in my arms, and not dealing with that fuzzy feeling when your hand goes to sleep.
2012 FLD
The bars look great on my 2012 FLD. My brother and I installed them; hes mechanically inclines and took us about 6-7 hours. I used the stock cables and wiring. Was surprised but it works. <br /><br />The bars are high quality and the finish on the chrome is great. Its also nice that you can fit the wiring through the bars without having to pull out each wire in order to fit through. <br /><br />My brother liked them enough thats hell be ordering a set for his bike. FWIW Im 57 and used a 3.5 pullback riser. Riding position is heaps better than stock bars.
14 inch mini apes
Got these for my 2018 Road King, love the way they look and feel. For the DYI guys out there like me , you absolutely need the wire extensions but not the cables.
Decent Bars
Nothing to complain about besides that they feel almost more like a T-Bar because the handles don't draw back as much as typical Apes. Wish they came in gloss black finish.<br /><br />These bars were packaged well. I'm 5'10, I would say 12 inch bars would of been better for me. I got the 14's. +4 cables required. My hands are just above my shoulders a few degree's.
Great bars
Everything from the service to the product itself are great. Only thing is I wish there was a easier way to fish the cables through the bars. Only reason I gave everything a 4 star rating is that there is alway room for improvement.
Great bars but could not use my factory risers on my soft tail slim so anyone reading this review make note of that you will need a different riser for these bars to work on a slim. My slim is 2019
These are awesome! Perfect for a Dyna
Nice bars
Bars are really nice , well made/finished , I was not able to use them due center space to narrow for my application it would be helpful if manufacture included that info
Nice look
Purchase price was very good, shipping was very quick, out of the box they look and felt nice,<br />routing wires was easy.<br />Did not fit in my softail standard riser, i had to sand the edge off both sides for the handlebar to drop in. It wasnt a lot but they do not drop in without modification. Loosened the bolts as well, no help.<br />They look and feel good on the bike but I am disappointed to buy a USA part and it not fit.
Blem, bad packaging, but good handlebars.
Bars can in a box that looked like it had been around the globe twice, packaging was lackluster, and there were a couple blemishes on the bars. These bars are painted and not powder coated as they should be. I'm a little worried that the black paint will not hold up over time. <br /><br />But... They do look awesome, even with the small blemishes. No major defects and I would just recommend doing a little more research.
Well I was hoping it came with the risesers and mounting hardware. It should have say mounting hardware not included
Great fit. Perfect height.
Nice bars busy just know you have to do some modification to the clamps on a 2018 street bob. I recommend looking on wild ones website because it is a lot for descriptive on what need to be done to install them on certain bikes. I’m not saying I wouldn’t have bought them but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that I would have to clearance my clamp and have them re powder coated.
Awesome looking a feeling handlebars. Went from stock drag bars to 14 in apes with burley cable kits on my 03 harley nighttrain fxstbi
Looks & Feels Great
Wild 1 Outlaw'z Chubby 1 1/4" Ape Hanger Handlebars Installed on a 2000 Sportster. This handlebars are the right height for me and it helps with my shoulders.
ordered for a brothers bike put them on and he has Been happy with them ever since great product
Cool as hell.. couldn’t be happier.
These bars fit perfect on my 2017 RoadKing. Love the look and the hand position is much better than the stock bars. <br />This is the first time for me changing bars out. I took my time and everything works great.<br />The throttle side had punched a hole in the box when it was delivered, but there was no damage, that is why only 4 stars.
Wild 1 Bars are the bomb!
Great set of bars! Looks fantastic and very easy to install.
Real nice bars.
looks good on the bike and feels good while riding perfect hieght for me to feel comfortable at 5''11.
Wild Ones
I use Wild One Chubbies when my customers ask for recommendations. Superb fit and finish ease of running wiring through the bars!
Great looking bars and very solid, I don’t know why they don’t offer gloss black instead of satin?? <br />Very comfortable and real quick delivery here in Australia only 4 days.
5 Stars
Solid bars and a really comfortable fit
A little pricier than some similar options, but glad i went with these. The machining and finish are impeccable, and my ride is more comfortable than ever. Looks great with the front end of my FXD
2nd bike, second set awesome product.

Great bars had them on my last bike but they didn’t fit on my stock risers on my 2016 slim
love them. fit with all the stock wires and cables on my road king except for having to extend the turn signal wires. looks great
Fitted nice and definitely looks cool
Great looking and construction. Want a some for my bike.
These bars look freakin awesome on my 98 FXD. They are exactly the style i was looking for! I'm 6' and the 12's put me right at shoulder height. Perfect width too, very comfortable. Very happy with my purchase!
Great bars. The fit and finish is great. I internally wired them with no problems, with the stock wiring and had plenty of wire left over, without extending them! Also the stock cables worked also! A great tip to wiring them, use an electricians fish tape to pull them through, it works wonders! Like I said great bars, I'd buy them again, or at least Wild 1 bars.
Very good construction, how ever had a hard time running the internal wire due to the sharp angle. I would make this purchase again
Worth every penny, wild 1 quality is second to none.
These look amazing when installed. The bars were tough to pull wire through. One side pulled real easy and the other side was a bear to pull . Not sure why it had less wire in it. The bottom hole could have been better also. They do look awesome!!!
i put these bars on my 2011 road glide. i love um. the wires are tricky to get around the 90 deg. turn but it was worth it.
The best thing I ever did to my bike..nice bars
very nice bars just have to be careful because thy scrach easy
No doubt the best bar on the market!! I stared at this page for 3 days before I pulled the trigger on these bars. It was between 12 and 14's. I picked the 12" and I know I made the right choice. I did have to lower my front forks about an 1/8th in to get them to fit properly. They fit so perfect shoulder high! I rode about 300 miles this weekend and felt great!!
