About Vance & Hines Softail Exhaust

Vance & Hines exhaust for the Softail ranges from slip-on mufflers to complete systems. Slip-ons include Twin Slash in 3 inch and 4 inch round, Eliminator 300, Hi-Output in matte black and Blackbird 450 and Backslash 450. Full systems cover Short Shots staggered, Big Shots staggered, Hi-Output 2-into-1, Upsweep 2-into-1, Big Radius and Pro Pipe, with older Straight Shots and Big Shot Long systems titled for Softails of 1986-2009. Dresser Duals and Power Duals headers are on the list as well.

Checking fitment on the Softail

Sound and look change with the layout. Staggered systems keep two separate pipes, 2-into-1 designs merge into one, and slip-ons only replace the mufflers. Check the engine name in the title, Twin Cam or Milwaukee-Eight, because the two use different parts. Exhaust and tuner products are sold for off-road and closed-course use only.

See every product on the Vance & Hines brand page, the bike hub at Softail parts, and Softail exhaust for competing systems.

Vance & Hines Softail Exhaust FAQ

What is the difference between slip-ons and full systems?
Slip-ons replace the mufflers and keep the stock header, while full systems replace everything from the head back. Titles say Slip-On or Full Exhaust System, so check the wording.
Which Vance & Hines systems suit a Twin Cam Softail?
Look for Twin Cam in the title, for example the Twin Slash 3-inch slip-ons and the Pro Pipe full system. Milwaukee-Eight titles belong to the later engine.
Do I need a tuner after fitting a full system?
The product notes say whether a tune is advised, and the page also lists a FuelPak FPX tuner for Touring. Read the notes for your bike.
