About Progressive Suspension

Progressive Suspension is a well-established name in Harley shocks, and most of the catalog here is rear shocks across many generations. This brand page lists the full Progressive range.

Shocks

The 412 Series is the best-known line, available in chrome, black, heavy duty and Cruise versions. The 422 Series adjustable shocks are listed for 1989 to 1999 Softail, the 444 Series fit Harley and Indian Scout, Scout Sixty and Bobber, and the 465 Series R.A.P. monotube shocks fit Milwaukee-Eight Softail. The 944 Ultra Low QPS shocks suit Touring and Softail riders who want a lowered ride.

Springs and kits

Fork springs, progressive-rate fork spring sets, fork cartridge kits, lowering kits, preload adjusters, touring links and a sway bar bracket are also listed.

Choosing

Choose shock length and spring rate for your bike and load. A lower shock changes ride height and ground clearance. Rear shock replacement is a good time to check the brake lines and kickstand. Match the model and year, because shock mounts vary. Many sizes sell through, so check what is in stock now. Torque the mounting hardware to spec and re-check it after the first ride. If you ride with a passenger and bags, ask for the heavy duty rating or a shock with preload adjustment. See Ohlins, FOX and suspension for alternatives.
